Human Growth Hormone
What is HGH?
Human Growth Hormone or HGH, (also known as somatropin) is produced by the pituitary gland. HGH is essential for growth and regeneration of cells and tissues. Specialists in anti-aging medicine have tagged HGH as "The Fountain of Youth!"
Your body's production of HGH is very high during childhood and adolescence. Unfortunately, after age 20 the release of HGH by the pituitary gland falls at a rate of approximately 14% every 10 years. By age 60, a loss of 75% or more of HGH is not uncommon. The physical symptoms such as wrinkles, increased body fat, loss of muscle mass, loss of energy and other signs that normally accompanies aging is directly related to this decrease in the production of HGH.
Many studies have been performed to research the benefits of HGH. Scientists and doctors have identified numerous positive results from HGH therapy.
Benefits of HGH Therapy:
Increase in Muscle Mass (without exercise)
Loss of Body Fat
Improved Sexual Function
Improved Sleep
Better Skin Tone
Restoration of Hair Color
Stronger Bones
Great Cardiac Output and More
Dr.Daniel Rudman, an endocrinologist from Madison, Wisconsin, conducted one of the most popular studies on Growth Hormone in 1985. In this study, 12 men ages 61 to 80 years old were given injections of synthetic HGH. In six months, without changing their diet, exercise or smoking habits, these men lost 14% body fat while gaining an average of 8.8% lean muscle. They also showed an increase in done density and improved skin texture. Dr. Rudman correlates these improvements to a regression of the aging process by 10-20 years.
The men in this study noticed other changes as well. Several men experienced a significant increase in their sex drive. One subject reported a significant loss in facial and hand wrinkles, as well as renewed physical energy. Another man found that his gray hair began to restore its original color. In contrast, the control group in this study, which received no HGH, experienced no improvement in any area.
The results of this study were published in the New England Journal of Medicine. The Rudman study opened the eyes of the medical community to the amazing benefits of HGH therapy.
