HCG WEIGHT LOSS PROTOCOL

WHAT IS THE HCG DIET? The HCG Diet consists of a very low calorie diet accompanied by hormone treatments of HCG. While the diet does result in rapid weightloss, it is important to know that the true benefit of this protocol is found it its ability to modify the dieter's eating behavior, resulting in long-term weightloss. Human Choriogonadotropin, the hormone produced by pregnant women. Research suggests a small, daily injection amount of Hcg (approx. 125IU to 200IU), results in an average weightloss of 1 to 2 lbs a day when accompanied by a VLCD (very low calorie diet). The protocol call for 6 weeks or 35 pounds, which ever happens first. On occasion we will allow for additional weight loss, however this is based on individual needs and certain criteria. A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE VLCD: Please remember that this protocol must be monitored by a licensed Healthcare provider. Breakfast Any amount of tea or coffee without sugar. 1 tablespoonful of milk is allowed in a 24 hour period. Sweeteners can be substituted for sugar. Lunch The dieter has a choice between the following meats: 100 grams of beef, veal, or chicken breast, (white) fish, and shellfish including lobster, crawfish, prawns, kidney, crab or shrimp. All visible fat is to be removed before cooking and the meat must be weighed raw. Not acceptable on the HCG diet Salmon, tuna, herring, mackerel, eel or any fish dried, pickled or sweetened. Just a note: imitation crab is usually made of herring, but contains sugar and other non-hcg diet accepted additives and is therefore not allowed. One type of the following vegetables are allowed: spinach, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, chard, celery, fennel, onions, radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, and cabbage. One grissini (Italian breadstick) or one melba toast is allowed per day. One apple or orange, or a handful of strawberries or one-half grapefruit is allowed per day. (note: 2 small apples is not an acceptable exchange for 1 large apple.) Dinner The same choices as lunch. For both lunch and dinner, not more than 4 items listed should be eaten at a time. Lemon juice is acceptable for seasoning as well as salt, pepper, vinegar, mustard powder, garlic, sweet basil, parsley, marjoram, thyme, etc. Also prohibited on the hcg diet: no oil, butter or dressing. Drinks Tea, coffee, plain water, and mineral water are the only drinks allowed and water intake should be moderate. 2 Liters of water daily is recommended. EASING THE DISCOMFORT OF THE HCG INJECTIONS: If your physician has sent you home with pre-mixed HCG for your weight loss protocol, these tips may help with self administration of your HCG shots. Pinching the skin and pulling it out gently, can provide distraction to your nerves so you do not feel the needle. Some people prefer the quick motion shot, while others prefer resting the needle on the pinched skin and pushing it through in a smooth motion. Relax the muscles prior to injection. Apply ice to numb the location prior to injection. Rotate injection sites. Usually lateral deltoid or lateral thigh Allow medications that have been refrigerated to warm to room temperature before injection. Allow the alcohol on your skin to air dry prior to injection.
